Module Operation

Panel structure

Based on the connection points, the MobilTherm-2-IP67 GSM temperature alarm consists of the following parts:

Top: microUSB connector

Side: Li-Po battery connector

Inside:

  • Battery jumper
  • Test button
  • nanoSIM card slot
  • Built-in antenna

Bottom:

  • Relay 2 terminal block
  • Relay 1 terminal block
  • Contact input 1
  • Contact input 2
  • Digital temperature sensor connectors
  • 230V mains power input

Installation recommendations and protection:

The panel is housed in an IP67-rated impact-resistant ABS plastic enclosure, providing maximum protection against dust, water, and mechanical impact. Cables can be routed through the 5 cable glands located at the bottom of the enclosure.

Warning:

  • If any terminal block is not wired out, the corresponding cable gland must be carefully sealed with a rubber, plastic, or metal plate to protect against water and moisture.
  • Improper sealing can compromise the panel's IP67 rating and lead to malfunctions.

Module commissioning

LED indicator meanings and functions

The LEDs on the MobilTherm-2-IP67 panel serve to indicate the device's status and various functions. The LEDs are red, green, yellow, or multi-colored, and indicate the current status of the device as follows:

In-1 (Yellow): Indicates the status of input 1. If the LED is continuously lit, input 1 is active (when a potential-free contact is applied).

In-2 (Yellow): Indicates the status of input 2. If the LED is continuously lit, input 2 is active (when a potential-free contact is applied).

Out-1 (Green): Indicates the status of high-current relay output 1. If the LED is continuously lit, relay 1 is energized.

Out-2 (Green): Indicates the status of high-current relay output 2. If the LED is continuously lit, relay 2 is energized.

T1 (Red/Green): Indicates the status of thermometer module 1.

  • Green (continuous): The temperature measured by thermometer 1 is within the set limits.
  • Red (continuous): The temperature measured by thermometer 1 is outside the set limits.
  • Red (flashing): Thermometer 1 is not connected or the connection is lost.

T2 (Red/Green): Indicates the status of thermometer module 2.

  • Green (continuous): The temperature measured by thermometer 2 is within the set limits.
  • Red (continuous): The temperature measured by thermometer 2 is outside the set limits.
  • Red (flashing): Thermometer 2 is not connected or the connection is lost.

Power (Red): Indicates the power supply. If the red LED flashes, the power supply is very low (below 11Vdc) or there is no power supply.

Status (Yellow/Green/Red): Used to indicate the GSM module and signal strength.

  • Yellow (continuous): Lights up for the first 10 seconds after power-on while the GSM module initializes and searches for a network.
  • Yellow (flashing): During GSM communication or USB mode (download, upload).
  • Green (flashing): Signal strength indication:
1 flash: Weak signal, the device should be relocated.
2 flashes: Weak signal, the module may restart, causing 30 seconds of downtime.
3 flashes: Medium signal, the module operates stably.
4 flashes: Strong signal, the module operates stably.
    5 flashes: Maximum signal strength.

Important warning:

If the Status LED flashes red and rapidly, check:

  • The correct connection of the GSM antenna.
  • The compatibility and PIN code status of the SIM card.
