MobilCom-8

The MobilCom-8 family is a series of GSM transmission modules that, when connected to the telephone line output of alarm or fire alarm control panels, translate the panels' ContactID reports into text messages and send them via SMS to up to 4 users' mobile phones. During normal operation, the module receives and acknowledges the ContactID messages from the alarm control panel, converts them into text messages, and then forwards the first 2 messages delivered within a single communication as SMS to the user(s)' phone(s) according to the configuration.

The device can be extensively configured via the microUSB port of laptops and computers using the free Unified universal downloader software written by SeaSoft Kft. The module is specifically designed to fit into control panel enclosures, connecting to their 12V battery and telephone line output. It operates with a carrier-independent GSM module that requires a prepaid or contract nanoSIM card.

The MobilCom-8 ContactID converter module also has a voltage-free contact input that can be used to send SMS messages with freely configurable content for any purpose. Our free Unified universal downloader software allows our devices to be programmed under Windows-XP, Windows-7, Windows-8, and Windows-10 operating systems. Neither a driver nor the Unified software needs to be separately installed to program the devices; the downloader software can be run immediately. Since our software can also program other devices, it can only be used with one of our modules connected via a USB port and automatically recognized by it. The content of every memory location of the device can also be changed by sending SMS messages from a dedicated phone number, using the memory table.

The MobilCom-8 CiD based GSM transmission module forwards SMS messages received from the carrier or from unknown numbers to the phone number(s) specified in the configuration, including the balance sent by the carrier if a prepaid card is used. The panel features a multi-color (red-green-yellow) LED for displaying the device's status and a red LED for signal strength indication and other status functions. The module is available in three versions: MobilCom-8p as a panel-only version with an external magnetic antenna, MobilCom-8 in an enclosed version with an internal built-in antenna in a light-colored plastic box, and MobilCom-8a in a black plastic box with an external magnetic antenna and an SMA connector. In all cases, it comes with a microSIM slot and a carrier-unlocked (carrier-independent) GSM module.
